Here’s Miss AU Tan 1985, one of the few goddess of Auburn’s Bronze Age whose name and photo escaped our Illustrated History, celebrating that Auburn life with Aubie at some sort of pre-springish function in front of the eagle’s cage on Feb. 18, 1986, per the back of the photo. That suit, those glasses, that hair, that body, that 1985/1986—very Wolf ‘n’ Pamela Wells, no? (We’re just one big, happy Auburn Family.)
Still looking for a Polaroid of Spuds McKenzie in Auburn, by the way.

It was called the “Love Auction” where you bid for a dinner date with “celebrity” Auburn Students. Miss AU Tan, Cheerleaders, Miss Glom, Football Players, Basketball players. It was put on to raise money for charity. Would love to see more pictures from that day because I was a bidder and a winner. Great memories!
I thought that was the Love Auction as well. It was a charity auction hosted by Kappa Alpha Theta sorority – I was the auctioneer for the first two. It was a big success and a lot of fun.
The girl in the picture is Michele Sanford She won the Miss Auburn University Tan contest in 1984 and 1985. It was the “Love Auction” where you bid for a dinner date for charity, and yes that hair was happening!
