We’d dug up Jay Jacobs’ past career aspirations. We’d talked about the Auburn grad Army captain who went all “ever to chisel” on the Great Sphinx on Giza. We’d flirted with Heather Health Hazard up in the Haley Center. And we’d made as many segues into shout outs for It’s Pronounced Jordan’s new sponsors as FCC corniness regulations allowed. Basically, we’d gone as far as we could without Ron’s insightful Hot Tamale interstitials. It was obviously time for a dramatic reading of Lewis Grizzard’s 1972 love letter to Auburn soundtracked by an instrumental version of “The Girl from Ipanema.”
As you’ll hear, radio history was made. Again.
