On Nov. 5, 1983, Pat Dye’s 44th birthday, Auburn beat Boomer Esiason and the Maryland Terps’ tail in Jordan-Hare Stadium. They then beat the birthday boy’s tail in the Auburn locker room. That was after they dunked him in the shower, but before they told him he was old and needed new shoes.
