The news of Nell Fortner’s retirement as Auburn’s women’s basketball coach has us looking back on our favorite Nell not-so-microexpressions, those born in the trenches of Cam-defending Auburn devotion.
They were captured at the Tiger Walk before the 2010 Clemson game. Nell was front and center as Gene Chizik marched into battle. And she was loud.
Like Justin said, Auburn Women’s Basketball coach Nell Fortner was All In before All In was a thing. War Eagle, Nell. And all the best.

You might find someone as good — despite recent struggles she’s a proven, great coach — but they’ll never find anyone that loves the place any more than Nell Fortner.
Kenny is right. No one will love Auburn the way Nell has!
Thanks, Nell, and all the best.
SAY IT AINT SO NELL
Luv ya Nell. War Eagle and good luck.
I’ll never forget Nell thanking me and my friends for going up to DC to watch them play by giving is gas money after the game. We had gone up to see the women play and the next night the men play at UVA.
