Tonight: Join the TWER Hoops Liveblog

Make it happen, Frankie.

UPDATE: Happenin’! Click below.

As a group of people named after a Southern vegetable (or legume?) once told me, tonight’s going to be a good, good night. For watching Auburn basketball anyway:  the women travel to Knoxville to take on No. 5 Tennessee–which, I’ll remind you, is Tennessee–at 6 p.m., while the men take the Beard-Eaves Coliseum floor for the start of their ultra-critical home stand at 8 p.m. against ranked Ole Miss.

Unfortunately, watching this Auburn basketball if you are not actually in Knoxville or the Beav might be tricky, since the women’s game is on CSS or ESPN360.com only, and the men’s is airing on ESPNU.

That’s where TWER comes in: we’re going to be liveblogging both games via CoverItLive tonight right here, this post, starting just before 6. J.M. Comer will take the lead with the women’s game and I (meaning Jerry H.) will be mostly handling men’s duties, but both of us will be around to talk Auburn hoops, ‘krootin’, global warming, whatever. We’ll also be getting some live reports directly from Beard-Eaves during the men’s game as our own Ben Bartley logs on via the miracle of coliseum WiFi.

So: be here. Join us. 6 p.m., 8 p.m. War Eagle.

Ug. I’ve been a Lebo supporter since he got here, but if there was ever any doubt about it in my mind. I’m now sold on a change after watching last night. I’ve listened to a couple and heard the recaps from folks that have been able to go to the games. But wow, I finally got to see it with my own eyes. The second half “performance” – that’s a stretch – from coaching to players was absolutely ridiculous. It’s easy to blame the coach but at this point I don’t think there’s any doubt that something has got to give and you can’t fire the players. It’s like nobody is in charge. How many 2 on 1′s after a forced turnover did we manage to screw up? And pass, pass, brick a 3 is not an offense.
