Well dang, it wasn’t John McEnroe, but a “War Eagle” exchange between John’s brother Patrick and fellow ESPN tennis analyst Brad Gilbert during the broadcast of former “University of Auburn” tennis star Tim Puetz’ second-round Wimbledon match Wednesday was still pretty cool.
Puetz, a four-year letterwinner and All-American at Auburn, was stickin’ his tongue out at his opponent, a guy named Fabio, early but his 46 unforced errors ultimately cost him. Which is to say he lost. It hurts.
This helps a little. (Can’t see the video? Try here.)
This time last year, another wearer of the “A” was gettin’ War Eagles and stuff at the French Open.
