Auburn’s Heisman statues going in

Our photographer happened to catch former Auburn linebacker and current Auburn athletics graduate assistant Karibi Dede admiring the Heisman tarp this afternoon.

On Friday the bust of John Heisman was installed outside Jordan-Hare. Today it was a statue of one of Auburn’s Heisman Trophy winners. But which one? Pat Sullivan seems a likely guess.

The statue is currently covered with a blue tarp that appears to conceal the outline of quarterback’s throwing motion; the statues were designed in action poses.

TWER was first to report that the statues would be kept under literal wraps while being installed and kept under 24-hour guard until their Saturday unveiling.
