A quick Google search reveals that the photo below is not the hilarious work of a marquee generator prankster, but the actual sign for an actually “now open” new eatery on Opelika Road called Fizhizzles Fish N Skrimps that promises to be “Auburn’s funkiest new Restaurant!!”

I tried this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the catfish plate. My fish was raw in the middle and the cole slaw tasted as if it has gone bad. My husband ordered the whiting and tilapia. They were like bricks and a bit too salty.
Always gonna be some haters…. If you look or something wrong at a restaurant, nine times outta ten you’ll find something…
I went to this spot in December and it was really salty! It took some time but, gave them another try in June! They stepped there game up! Whitings were great! The hush puppies were spicy! But maybe that how thats what they intended!
Well this Auburn “Alum” is a less than honest businessman and down right deceitful. He attempted to deceive a city government in a neighboring town west of Auburn with his state liquor licence application. Claiming the ABC agent filled his application out, stating the closest church was 1 block away when in fact it is less than 50 feet, and nearest residence 1 block and it is less than 100 feet. He also claimed the ABC agent told him to put the occupancy of 500 for a space that will hold no more than 50-75. This was stated in an open meeting by the owner of Fishizzle’s Fish N Skrimps and the Balcony Bar, before a room of about 20 citizens and a city council. So serving raw fish and bad coleslaw would not be a stretch.

If you really think I was trying to deceive anyone then answer this. WHO? The City Council was more than aware of the location of the buildings in question. So it’s not as if the deception would have gone very far. Nor was it intentional. As I stated at the meeting some of the questionaire is completed by the ABC officer. Your city council spoke with the ABC the next day and they clarified that they had put the 1 blk distance and that it just meant that it was on that block. It’s a general distance not a measured distance that they need. So both the house and the church are on the same block! There is no way I agreed to put 500 ppl in the occupancy number, this is my 5th bar or restaurant…I KNOW for certain that only the fire marshall can issue the occupancy number. No matter what number I put down the fire marshall would have the final say so, again there was no deception attempted. IF I was going to try to deceive your council why would I have put such a ridiculously high number? How would that have been to my advantage? EVEN if I had put 5000 ppl down as the occupancy it would still have come down to what the Fire Marshall gave me as an occupancy!! I did state all of this in an open meeting so there was certainly no deception. Our food has improved a great deal as the staff has gotten better over time. In December of last year we had been open less than a month.
