Organizer Warren Tidwell and other volunteers of the Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa disaster relief effort have secured a 28,000 square foot warehouse for receiving and sorting supplies, which according to Tidwell have come from as far away as The Netherlands.
“There’s a van coming from LSU and a group from UCLA coming,” Tidwell says.
The group is currently operating out of Five Points Baptist Church in Northpoint. Tidwell says Tide For Toomer’s will be featured in an NBC Nightly News segment Saturday night.
