The wall by the men’s room: just another reason why Byron’s is great.

All those that had Bruce Evans for freshman year home room say “yeaaaah.”

Wait… is Byron’s back in business? The bar at the old hotel on College Street and Shug? The name was changed to something else in the late 90′s.

  2. This one is the BBQ joint on Opelika Rd., moved next door into the shell of the old Dairy Queen a few years ago.

Loved me some Byrons. So they moved from the old smokehouse building where backdoor guests were best – or at least first in line?? I used to love the fact that everybody pretty much ate at the same table.
Coach Dye asked me to pass him the “good/hot” special bbq sauce one day when I was in there for lunch.

  4. Yeah, it moved. Like, two doors down. So that people wouldn’t be sitting at the same table I guess. Not that this place doesn’t have a vibe, but the other place definitely had more personality.

Oh crap! This is what 9 years will do to you. The bar I was thinking about was Benji’s.

How could I get Byron’s Smokehouse wrong?! They catered my wedding researsal dinner at The Arboretum!

I feel so old / dumb.
