In “The Pacific,” HBO’s 2010 miniseries about the Marines’ experience during the Pacific theater of World War II, we learn that the only thing the Marines prepped Auburn’s freedom fightin’ badass for upon entering Alabama Polytechnic Institute wasn’t accounting, or journalism, or even engineering, but “how to kill Japs.”
He got pretty damn good at it.
And he still managed to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in the summer of 1949.
Reaction: Save for the (lack of) seats, that room is certainly Langdon-esque, and Austrailian hottie Adelaide Clemens typecast perfectly as an Auburn coed—but “Bama Poly?” I could be wrong, but I highly doubt an Auburn student of that or any era would have referred to the school as anything other than API or Auburn.
Shape up HBO screenwriters… when we searched for it, Google suggested we might mean “Obama polygamy.”

Apparently this and her role as “Girl at the Carnival” in X-Men Origins Wolverine are her biggest claims to fame, but anyone born in Australia and raised in France that can nail an accent like that has got to be one of the single best actors of our generation.
