This is one baseline we can establish for Cam Newton’s season, coming as it will under the tutelage Gus Malzahn: he’ll be one of the more productive quarterbacks in the country. There’s no precedent for less.
But the pulse-quickening truth is that if that’s the baseline, there’s no precedent for Newton’s ceiling under Malzahn either.
