Lauren Meneau has a southern accent. And she’s an Auburn fan. That’s all it took for Lara Spencer, David Arquette, Tom Bergeron and Sherri Shepherd to correctly guess that she spent several seconds inside a tornado and lived To Tell The Truth about it.
All three Lauren Meneaus said they were from Alabama; the imposters answered Tuscaloosa, the real one said Cullman (as in 2011 Cullman Tornado Cullman).
While the other panelists mostly asked questions about the actual incident, David Arquette didn’t beat around the bush.
“Just complete this statement with one other word,” he said. “Roll ______.”
One Fake Lauren responded “Tide.”
The Real Lauren couldn’t bring herself to say it at all.
“Please don’t make me say it—it’s ‘War Eagle.’
Dang, girl.
Arquette said the great “War Eagle” answer is what convinced him she that really did live in Alabama, sweet home to the country’s most violent tornadoes. That and the accent.
Here’s the absolutely terrifying footage Meneau captured inside her car with the Auburn sticker.
Double Dang, girl.
I was on my way to work at Mcdonalds on hwy 278 in Cullman AL. I captured the tornado for a few seconds then I realize I was too close. i drop the camera and turn around. …RAW FOOTAGE… You will hear stuff hitting my car and when i start screaming ( and please realize that this is freaking scary stuff) is when i am being picked up by the tornado in my car. It spins me around smashed me into a building and moves on. Im pretty much panicking at this point. Sooo ya…. Word to the wise do not get too close to a tornado.

Arquette used to married to Courteney Cox, so he would know.
