Auburn has been putting Bama in the slamma with the gramma since 1989. So the result of this study on grammar skills displayed by fans (or at least those who comment on SB Nation blogs) of the teams in the AP Top 25 should come as no surprise.
Auburn fans make the fewest grammatical errors per 100 words.
Alabama fans make the most.
But it’s not just the houndstoothed hoi polloi—even the “educated” among them struggle with misspellings and such. Like, big time.
So if we can’t do the reverse Rammer Jammer thing anymore, how about this: “Comma, adverb, period, noun! Write like you have a cap and gown!”
