We’d heard there was a ‘Bear’ skin rug in Sewell Hall. Just didn’t know what it was used for.
(It was used for the greatest Auburn photo ever.)

Barry Mask strikes again. This is going on his FB page.
Yup, absolutely early era Aubie (aka Barry). Classic!
I took the photo of Aubie and the beauty on the Bear rug for the first ever Aubie calendar. The girl is Jan Floyd and Aubie was played by Barry Mask, the first ever Aubie.
Awesome Will, sent you an email. Would love to do a follow-up post.
I can’t tell what is the most recent stories from the front page. The high number of large pictures is overwhelming. I think most readers don’t actually care about the categories like “culture” “sports” “campus” and just want to read all the articles in the order they were published. It’s hard to know how to do that from the front page. Sorry for posting this hear, just didn’t know where else to put it, or how to get to other parts of the site.
Heard and heard, Scott. Welcome back to TWER Classic.
Hey Will, I hate to disagree with your identification of the subjects in the bearskin rug photo but I believe your memory has failed you. You are indeed correct about the beauty being Jan Floyd, Miss Auburn, but the man “behind the mask” is me, Aubie II. It was a very memorable photo shoot as were many of the other ones as well. Remember the “disco” scene and the Uncle Sam one with the bootlegged fireworks and the campus police?
This picture was taken at Bill Beckwith, Sr’s House
The bear rug belonged to me and I let her use it for her photo shoot. I had it with me while at AU and yes it was at Sewell Hall since I spent 4 years there. Despite our on and off 3 year relationship (off at this time) I still allowed for her to use it during her shoot. It later traveled with me to Pensacola, FL and then finally back home to Georgia with me.
