Amazing Race contestants Caitlin King and Brittany Fletcher set an Auburn record Sunday night by becoming the first Auburn graduates to make it past the show’s season premier.
Yes, Preston McCamy and his Auburn sweatshirt have somehow been flying under our state of the art Auburn-in-pop-culture radar for more than three years now. A 2003 Auburn graduate, McCamy and girlfriend Jennifer Hopka, whom McCamy apparently had to literally carry to the finish line, were the first couple eliminated from The Amazing Race 14 back in early 2009.

Preston is my cousin. We were both at AU at the same time, as well as his brother William. Ironically, both our Dad’s(brothers) are bama fans! I thought about mentioning this when you posted the article about this season of the Amazing Race. Since he didn’t make it past episode 1, I wasn’t sure how it would have been perceived. War Eagle!
There were two guys (brothers maybe) and one of them was in Auburn when I was there (99-03). Not sure of the season. I think they were from GA, but there is another Auburn tie for you.
Last season there was a team of 2 girls from Auburn. One was a former AU soccer player.
