Thankin’ Our God, Thankin’ Our People: Rare locker room footage of a teary Pat Dye praying after Auburn beat Alabama the 1982 Iron Bowl

You’ve probably seen video of that “I’m gon’ go back out there and thank your people” line before, but you probably hadn’t seen them actually thankin’ our people. I hadn’t, at least. And I hadn’t see that teary Pat Dye prayer. Oh man, that prayer:

“I want to thank You for… what Auburn University stands for. Please let us be humble in victory, and proud. Most of all, we thank You for being at Auburn. Amen.” (Can’t see the video? Try here. Grab a tissue first.)

Also hadn’t heard the crazy woman screaming “Beat Bama! Beat Bama! Yea Auburn!” by the locker room tunnel. All of it is so wonderful.
