Ol’ Dunstan Hall has been scheduled for demolition. For, like, three years or something. So Minecraft magician Weagler just decided to just go ahead and do it himself.
“Since it is going away and they’ve already gutted it out, I put TNT in here and thought it’d be fun to get rid of it it myself,” he says of Dunstan in his latest YouTube video.
Weagler is the dude we introduced you to back in October who decided to devote himself to the task of creating the loveliest virtual village on the Plains, or at least the campus part of it. “This is a Minecraft project to build the entire campus of Auburn University in a 1:1 scale model,” reads the about page of the video showcasing the first phase of the project. Well, there’s been, like, four updates on his progress since then, including—oh yes—a tour of Minecraft Jordan-Hare Stadium that we only just now discovered.
In his latest update, he claims that 43 percent of the campus is complete. But 42.5 percent is probably more accurate.
“Let’s get to the fun part, shall we?” he says around the 9 and a half minute mark of the video. “Here we are walking up to Dunstan Hall, which unfortunately is going to have to depart us. And what I really hope is that this TNT doesn’t fly all over the place and destroy some other things.”
30 seconds later: “Wow… that was probably the worst idea I’ve ever had.”
Dunstan is done, son.
