Often lost in the shadow of the The Ball Player’s iconic juxtaposition is this same-era poster celebrating the specific outlets of Bo’s dual dynamism: He’s a Raider, he’s a Royal. No. 34. No. 16. Black. Blue.

Assuming this was taken in the same studio where the Bo Knows commercial was filmed, and that the hockey stick and Bo Diddley’s red axe were just accidentally left in the shot.

Wow. Hadn’t seen that in a while. It graced my wall growing up (along with the more iconic pic IMO of Bo in shoulder pads with the bat across his shoulders) and I can pick out many of the items in the pic that I had as well. The raiders garbage can…though mine was the AU edition, KC ball cap, real men wear black shirt. I still remember my dad to take me to a huntsville stars game to see Bo play when he was with the memphis Chicks. I stood by the Starts bullpen begging the pitcher for a ball I could get signed afterward. He finally relented and as we left the stadium we saw a short to med length line and got in it. Turns out it wasn’t Bo, but I let the guy sign anyway because I would have felt bad saying sorry you’re not bo! We couldn’t find him anywhere in the area and disappointed headed for the car. Then we rounded a corner of the stadium and THERE was the BO line in all it’s glory! Then I felt bad handing Bo a ball that was already signed, but he just smiled and laughed when I told him I didn’t want to hurt the other guys feelings. Still have that ball on my mantle with the other guys name facing the wall.
I think I got this poster when I joined Club Bo, which was a real thing.
