Sex advice columnist Dan Savage coming to Auburn to film MTV show

"Sweet Auburn, sexiest village of the bizarre!" - Dan Savage

Playboy took our pictures. Playboy playmates sneaked into our stadium and wore our hero’s pants. Erotic Auburn beer steins? Hasn’t Auburn’s 2011 calendar year been sexualized enough?

Hell no, says MTV, which will be filming both on and off campus next week for Savage University, a late night sex advice series hosted by popular sex columnist (and controversial neologist) Dan Savage to debut in 2012.

From a Facebook group page for the show:

Share your insight about the sexual climate of your campus! What can you show & tell Dan that makes Auburn University special when it comes to sex & relationships? Hang out with Dan Savage and share your stories, questions, tips & ideas about sex, relationships and dating.

Do you have a questions or a problem you need Dan’s help with?

Dan will be meeting with a select few students who want to share their stories on camera…

From serious to silly and everything in between! No subject is taboo, too kinky or too conservative. All students and opinions are welcome.

The Savage University crew will be in Auburn from Sept. 27-30 and will tape a Q&A segment for the show from 6–9 p.m. Sept. 29 in 113A Lowder Hall.

“I trust that students at Auburn will enjoy the talk, and I’m not arriving with an agenda, contrary to what most expect,” Savage told The Plainsman. “Conservative college students who come to my talks expecting to be outraged often leave agreeing with me on lots of subjects. All are welcome.”

And all who participate will have to sign a release.
