The Auburn Athletics Department has launched a new billboard advertising campaign—”Your Future Is Clear”—in Atlanta, Birmingham, and Montgomery.

Car insurance premiums of Bama fans across Alabama are expected to skyrocket.

Car insurance premiums will definitely rise. So will sales of blood pressure medication and Valium. Love it!
What’s the point of these? To rub it in everyone’s faces? Seems like a dumb way to spend university funds. If we had problems selling tickets and there was a phone # for the ticket office, these would make sense. As they stand right now, these billboards are just us patting ourselves on the back. And that’s the way obnoxious people behave. By the way, this is coming from an Auburn grad (Class of ’99).
Last year’s “Fearless and True” billboards were I think intended to attract recruits / students. Assuming this is more of the same, with some patting.
Chris…the billboards aren’t that deep. It’s to get students and recruits. Being from GA, seeing AU billboards in ATL made me want to go to Auburn more.
At least these billboards are regional — attracting students and advertising sports tickets. When Lane Kiffin was at Tennessee, he put up billboards exclusively in South Florida, just trying to recruit.
Personally, in the spirit of La Monroe, I think all of our billboards should have scores on them.
Billboards are a joke. Cant wait to see what auburn fans say when their little title is vacated. Keep dreaming auburn fans. You never have, and never will have the history of the Alabama Crimson Tide and its 13 National Championships. I find it funny both of auburn’s titles are under ncaa scrutiny, 1957 probation and this past year, which will be vacated within 5 years.
@John Johnson, if that is really your name. lol I will remindyou that your beloved UAT WAS on probation last year when they eecked out a win over Auburn and eventually the BCS crystal football. In fact, I would be more worried about your program receiving the Death Penalty and having their championship revoked than AU. And I would rather win it the right way than the cheating/false claims of 13 laughable championships. So suck it JJ, AU 28-27, and UAT chokes a 24 point lead at home. AU #1, UAT sucking hind teet.
John Johnson, you are just another Bama fan who doesn’t realize how intelligent Chizik and his staff is.
They knew of all the allegations long before they became public. They did their homework and worked with the NCAA the entire time.
The public was fed the allegations one at a time and it was already history by that time to the Auburn Athletic Office.
Keep dreaming about Auburn losing their championship. It ain’t going to happen.
@ JJ – Boy, aren’t those grapes sour?
JJ. Dodn’t you have some trees to kill or something?
Sounds like JJ needs some Preparation H to soothe that case of raging butthurt.
28-27.
updykes have their own billboard and mascot. too bad that no one wants to talk about the true face of the criminal tide. jimmy johns, wasn’t he the last FELON under $aban’s watchful eye in the parking lot? add the saban-grey-shirt rule and now this rogue booster indicted for 4 felonies. UA seems like a crumbling program that is out of control, but keep telling yourself that all is okay.
JJ – Choke on that 24 point lead and try to do a little background on the (13) NC’s. you might be surprised to find that 1941 UA finished the season barely in the top 20 with 3 losses and claimed a NC 3 years later. Interesting wouldn’t you say! There’s more than one occurence of that post-awarding by Wayne Atcheson as Sports information director in the mid-80’s.
Yes, that future is clear! That future includes an NCAA ruling that ultimately strips Auburn of their fake National Championship claims (ala, what occurred to USC). No, I am not a ‘Bama fan. In fact, I hate the Crimson Tide more than any other team. BTW, that Dr. Dre wears Auburn caps/shirts says a lot about the type of program that Auburn runs. What do you want to bet that he would say “Au-who?” if Auburn had finished 2010 with a 6-6 record? He’s the same type of person who wore Miami caps/shirts in the late 1980s and Florida State caps/shirts in the mid 1990s. ROTFLMAO
@ John Johnson If you really believe that Alabama has 13 National Championships, then you need to do some serious research. National Championships aren’t awarded by the Alabama Athletic Director or the Tooth Fairy. ‘Bama has claimed NC that belong to Notre Dame, Army, USC, and a whole slew of others. Check-out the results of the Bowl Games that they played in those years that they claimed National Championships. That list will include Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, et cetera.
Add RT to the list of people that need Preparation H. Two guesses what the name stands for.
