We’re currently prepping an entire series on Bo’s Heisman campaign.
But in an attempt to keep Pat Sullivan’s name in the Cam for Heisman story lines pertaining to Auburn’s history with the trophy, almost all of which are revolving and will continue to revolve around the 25th anniversary, “once in a generation” parallels between the incredible Bo Jackson and the incredible Cam Newton, (and in an attempt to connect Cam Newton to any and everything we post, even if from the TWERchives, and as excuse to post anything from the TWERchives at all), let us consider the syntax of Mark Ingram’s “endorsement” of Cam Newton for Heisman on today’s The Dan Patrick Show.
Per the talent-poaching CBS Sports’ College Football Blog:
“We’ll see what happens,” Ingram said. “We’ll see how the rest of the season plays out and who keeps playing the best football. They’re definitely playing the best football out of everybody right now.
“If he’s the best and has been the best so far, I wouldn’t have no problem. I’m a real person and I can’t hate on the man.”
That’s right, Ingram “wouldn’t have no problem” voting for Newton. Could it be that Ingram is intentionally using the double-negative to throw off the scent, and that he has no intention of voting for Newton?
… and therefore could it also be that Mark Ingram is auditioning to play the Ed Miranaro to Newton’s Pat Sullivan?
From the December 16, 1971 edition of the OA-News:
We need to replate that trophy and put Ingram’s name on it.
Let us not forget that Ingram won the only Nobel Heisman ever awarded.
To mention Mark Ingram in the same sentence as Bo Jackson or Herschel Walker is an absolute joke. And just to remind the Bammers out there… Ingram is the guy that will pull himself out of the game when things get tough – what a weaselly little punk that guy is. What a perfect fit for Bammer.
What a snarky bunch we Auburn students were/are! I love this lol.
Ingram will finish second in his wildest dreams – he is not even on the radar for Heisman consideration.
Didn’t Ben Tate win the same award last season? After all, he was “the best running back in the state of Alabama”, wasn’t he? My, oh, my he was one true Aubarn Man….
That’s your typical Aubarn class… it even beats all the classy Aubarn Men and Women who roll Toomer’s Corner when AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TEAM loses to another opponent. No matter how you spin it, at least Ingram didn’t say “I’m a better player” or “I’ve never lost to them” or “we’re tired of them getting all the attention when they don’t deserve it” the way your inferior, incestuous “family” of Aubarn players have.
And Sawdust, where’s the links? Where’s the proof? By that logic, I could say the same about Savage, considering he constantly stays injured it seems… As a classy and prestigious Aubarn Man, you should give credit where credit is due and not post such unsubstantiated facts (or should I say lies?). All of the great and mighty Aubarn Men who have helped benefit our society would disown you if they heard this.
lol
It is nice to see Malzahn is Cheez-it’s Daddy step up and make Alabama look trashy, once he recognized Ingram was showing too much class.
Huh? SFC, I’m telling JGT you are cheating on him
Is this “Malzahn Cheese” guy so pathetic that he comes to an Auburn site and trolls about this. Stay classy Bama fan.
