Ledarius Phillips is better than Lattimore. He could be our best goal line RB in Auburn history. They will need to have two or three guys to bring Ledarius down and after he is done punishing linebackers, they are going to have trouble catching up to McCaleb and Newton running around the perimeter. You watch, malzahn is getting salivating like Gary Kasparov with 3 knights and a 2 queens.

Yeah I too get that feeling that Lattimore will stay in SC. You don't call a presser at your hometown church to tell folks your leaving the state do you? Seems like a (Richard) move to me. Regardless, I just feel "the Trunk" brings more excitement than Dyer or Lattimore. Remember how Reggie Bush or Dexter McCluster just made people look stupid while breaking long TD runs. Seastrunk is that kind of back. With the hyper agg defenses in the SEC, a back that can cutback and juke like Seastrunk would have been gold...even if he is a weirdo. Well at least when he is on ESPN juking 4 guys on a long TD run, it won't be in the SEC. Plus Dyer is a great back, no doubt about that.

El Carg: post will be up before the afternoon is out.

On Seastrunk: Seastrunk himself told a fan Auburn had already cooled pre-Army game. Why is something we'll never really know, but I think it was probably a combination of 1. confidence in Lattimore 2. Seastrunk's erratic personality. The coaches were probably willing to put up with the latter from the second back in the class ... but not the third. They should get the benefit of the doubt.

But with Lattimore looking less likely by the minute AND Howard out of the mix, you may be proven right, SEChomer: flaky or not, no one's questioning Seastrunk's physical ability, which would be an even better fit for Auburn's offense than Latt's. Auburn's coaches may end up regretting this decision if/when Lattimore does indeed stay home at SC and McCalebb gets hurt again.

At least Auburn has a buzz surrounding it heading into the final day ... can't say the same about our cross-state rival. It's all tumbleweeds and crickets on al.com as far as Tide recruiting right now. (Well ... sorta ... Coleman could royally screw that up for Auburn.)

Word is that Seastrunk's work ethic was shown to be lacking at the Army All American Game. Auburn cooled after that point.

Awesome job by the coaching staff. But I have to nitpick on one thing. I think AU missed out big on Lache Seastrunk. I don't know if Oregon outworked AU or if AU was so enamored by Dyer and Lattimore that they relaxed their efforts. Seastrunk is a one of a kind talent. His change of direction and explosiveness are unmatched by almost anyone including current NFL backs. I don't really understand why he was ranked lower than Dyer or Lattimore unless he has fumblitis, is weak in the passing game, or is injury prone. He is just about as big as those guys, faster, and more agile.
