This is an awesome piece! These types of feelings for the PLACE – not just sports teams is what makes Auburn University such a special place.

I am convinced sentiments like the ones expressed above just don’t exist for that hole on the other side of Bessemer. Mainly because those folks have no idea the place functions exists except to host seven football games a year.

…but I digress.

I lived in San Diego for 12 years and am now back home in Atlanta near my 4 grandbabies. With the help of Clay Taylor (President of the LA Auburn Club) I started the San Diego Chapter. Clay’s e-mail address was claytaylor@aol.com. This was over 6 years ago. He told me where the nearest meeting places for watching the games were to me and was a great help. So glad Momma G’s started franchising. They’re up to bham now, Huntsville can’t be too far away.

I’m actually out in LA this week. Definitely a different culture. absolutely gorgeous scenery though.

I know it’s not the same at all, but Firehouse Subs steams their sandwiches… there’s none in CA, but there are some in Colorado and Nevada…

I’m just down the road here in Atlanta, but I crave the sandwiches all the time.
