Okay this looks better than I exopected, but we are counting on a lot of injured players returning. At least a few will fail to make it back. At any rate, just some non-walk-on warm bodies should go a long way in improving performance of the starters.

I am far more worried about the DTs than you. We saw what good DT play can do for our LBs in the Iron Bowl. I think Bynes is one of the best run stuffing LBs in the conference but when the DTs aren’t drawing the OLs full attention it makes his job alot harder.

How about a summary of our competitors outlook for 2010??? It’s my opinion that AU will be improved in most areas, but I think our SEC competition might also be better…….

regarding special teams, we really need a kickoff man that can put it in the endzone. watching bama start from the 40 all day was destroying my soul. that’s such a head start for an offense. i wanna go back to the days of kickoffs going through the uprights, and no returns whatsoever.

as far as punt returns, would it be legal to just carry a big basket out there to catch the ball with? that would be a start.

Good article, Jerry. With three close losses this year, the differences listed above should translate into victories. 10-2 is usually good enough to compete for the West title. With Bama’s losses in seniors this year and slide by LSU and Ole Miss (is it a slide or simply an unveiling of a fraud?) the competition seems to be evening out. Ought to be interesting.

Can’t think about that now, though, too much football to watch over the holidays.

Oh, and AubOrange, we self-reported the secondary violations, imposed a punishment of a reduction of eight official visits and a letter of reprimand for Trooper Taylor. But Mike “The Weasel” Slive wasn’t satisfied. He insisted that we all genuflect toward Tuskaloser and right 500 sentences on the blackboard “Little Nicky $aban is the bestest coach ever!” Mike Slive may just be the biggest loser ever to be commissioner of the SEC.
