Doubt you’ll see UK in Nashville for the 3rd time in 4 years, but its possible.

Also, on UK, one reason they MIGHT take them is that your assessment on their fans traveling is a little off in regards to Nashville. They bring a TON of people every time they play there. UK travels better than people think.

Trackin, I like the way you think, but I think the banner is supposed to reflect the history of the the bowl rather than possible invitees: the Auburn player there is Bo, who ran all over Arkansas in the Liberty in ‘84, and the player to his right is Doug Flutie, who also played the bowl back in the day.

On the one hand an ISU v. Auburn match-up would generate more hype and prurient interest than just about any other possible bowl meeting, but the risk of a black eye for Chizik is such that I personally wouldn’t want to see it.

Jerry – what do you say to an Iowa State vs. Auburn match in Shreveport? It would almost certainly sell tickets in Iowa….
While I agree with your logic above whole-heartedly, I think the “lessor” bowls have learned to jockey for ticket sales and TV hype well before the final gun sounds in the last game.

I don’t see any real way Auburn slips all the way to either the Independence or Pizza Bowl. It would take wins from Carolina and Georgia and Tennessee and then bowls taking Kentucky and the ‘Cocks over Auburn … I just don’t think it’s a legit possibility.

But it would be nice from this standpoint to have Clemson and/or Ga. Tech win, just in case.

Jerry…as long as we don’t have to drive up US280 past your old namesake blog, I’m happy…frankly, I hope UGAly winds up in the “Pizza Bowl”. That stadium and location would be a perfect ending to the Dogs’ season. Jbird
