It was a great bar and will be missed. There wasnt a better place in Auburn to meet quality girls. Herbi, I’m sorry! Oh, and Tree, I’m sorry you were a GDI and had to hang out at Harrys.

Any place you had to pay money just to go in and drink wasn’t worth it in my opinion. Buffalo’s down the street in Magnolia Plaza was much better and probably had the best car bombs in town…

I never went to Bodega to hang out unless it was because our boss at Mellow Mushroom (coincidentally the same guy who then owned Bodega) was giving away free booze. It always seemed like a haven for frat dudes, which wasn’t really what I was into. I did a little bit of bar-backing there and it was some of the hardest work I’ve ever done.

One night I volunteered to play bass for a cover band there and got so messed up that I couldn’t play at all.

Despite all this reminiscing, it will never be a legend like Harry’s.

My favorite Auburn watering holes were Waldo Pepper’s and Rusty’s Oyster Bar.

Anyone who remembers those just remembering… your telling everyone how old you are!

RIP Bodega. You were one of my favorite places to be on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. Always made sure to go there on every trip back.
